Taking a business from a dream to reality is a complicated task, and the first year is usually the most difficult for small businesses. Downtown Sacramento Foundation, with the generous support of Calling All Dreamers’ sponsors, will help the participants of the 2022 program navigate the challenges of its first year in business.

The 2022 Business Start-up Package is valued at $120,000 and includes the following services and benefits. Check back often to see the newest addition to the start-up package!

The valuable prize package is made possible due to the generous support of sponsors who continue to be champions for the economic growth of the downtown core. Partnership opportunities are still available for local businesses able to donate much-needed accounting and marketing/website administrative support. START-UP CAPITAL

Every new startup business needs capital. The final awardee will receive up to $20,000 in matching funds to help get the doors open, and each entrepreneur who finished the program will also have a chance at up to $5,000 in matching funds.

BUSINESS PLANNING & COACHING

A SCORE mentor, a seasoned business professional, will provide guidance on business planning and help refine business strategies.

The Carlsen Center For Innovation & Entrepreneurship-California State University, Sacramento will provide education, community and support to help launch cohort launch their business.

LEGAL

Smith, McDowell & Powell (SMP) is a full-service law firm that provides cost effective, responsive representation for all types of individuals and businesses. SMP will provide up to 20 hours of business and real estate-related transactional legal services.

BRAND DEVELOPMENT & WEBSITE DESIGN

TENANT IMPROVEMENT CONSTRUCTION

DesCor Builders is a licensed general contractor based in Rancho Cordova, CA providing both full service reconstruction, general contracting, and construction management services throughout Northern California. They will provide the winner with tenant improvement build-out construction services. DesCor is offering the awardee $10,000 in-kind support towards a space-build out contract.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY

XSIGHT Productions, Inc. is a Sacramento-based company specializing in visual content. XSIGHT’s mission is to create meaningful content that will connect with audiences in a way that sparks their interest and stays with them. XSIGHT will create a one-of-a-kind branding video, as well as engaging photographs to fit the needs of the winners particular business goals.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Since 1988 Design Tech. has been providing interior design services to corporate, civic, healthcare, hospitality, restaurant, retail and residential clientele. Design Tech provides services ranging from space planning to construction documents and furniture procurement. Design Tech will provide up to 62 hours of interior design services to the winner.

HR Consulting 

BizHaven curates training programs that best suit your organization to maximize your employees abilities and the business’ success. Strategically partnering with you, their HR Biz Partners are on site developing and implementing training programs that will help effectively build a positive culture and a more successful, unified operation. BizHaven will provide the winner with quarterly consultation, HR and safety meetings, prevention training, and more.

ADVERTISING 

Marquee Media specializes in delivering advertisers the highest quality traditional and digital out-of-home media assets at Marquee locations. Their state of the art digital billboards utilize the newest technology to reach mass audience. Marquee will provide the winner with advertising opportunities valued at $20,000.
Inside Publications’ newspapers are the leading community-centric newspapers in the Sacramento area. Each publication features cover art by local artists and stories highlighting volunteers, small businesses, home, and more. Inside will provide the winner with a ½ page advertising campaign in Inside [Land Park, East Sacramento, Arden and Pocket] Publications.
 

iHeart Media (NASDAQ: IHRT) is the number one audio company in the United States, reaching nine out of 10 Americans every month. iHeartMedia will provide the winner with a digital package valued at $5,000 to promote their business to the masses.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

With more than 25 years of experience on local, regional and national levels, T-Rock Communications provides a wide range of consumer-focused media and public relations expertise. T-Rock will work with the winner to develop proactive marketing tactics that support the overall brand as well as provide grand opening outreach designed to generate positive local media interest and maximize public support for the new business.

PRINTING 

Print management is the cornerstone of Third Rail. They have managed over 10,000 campaigns and over 15,000 actual printed components and specialize in bringing design to life. Third Rail will provide the winner with their first set of business collateral to let everyone know they are open for business.  

STRATEGIC MARKETING & CONSULTING 

Be Your Business was started with the goal of getting start-up ideas and small to medium businesses to their financial bottom line. Be Your Business will provide monthly consulting for one year and strategic marketing implementation consultation.

 

There are no substitutions, transfers, or cash equivalents for prizes except that DSF may, at its sole discretion, make modifications or substitutions if necessary. The prizes are expressly limited to the items listed and unless otherwise expressly specified, do not include taxes, gratuities, or any other expenses. Other restrictions may apply.

 Winner will be responsible for initiating consult and have up to a twelve-month period following the date of award to utilize pro bono services. Any unused portion of the Prize Package at the twelve-month point will be forfeited.
