Township 9

Township 9 calls for nearly 3,000 housing units, 800,000 square feet of office space and 100,000 square feet of urban retail on 65 acres incannery_place_township_9_rendering-750 the River District. The area is bounded by Richards  Boulevard, Fifth and Seventh streets and the American River. The project’s ultimate goal is to have fewer cars and be a pedestrian friendly environment.  There is also a planned light rail stop at Richards Boulevard and Seventh Street.  Phase I of construction is expected to provide 139 residential units by 2014. The remainder of the project will be finished incrementally over the next 10 years.

Phase II will begin in 2015. This will include Township 9 Park along the riverfront, most of the remaining infrastructure, a market-rate apartment building, and town homes. The remaining parcels will be developed as determined by the market.
