DSP alum, Ryan Loofbourrow now ED at Sacramento Steps Forward

Earlier this year, Sacramento Steps Forward board chair, Pastor Rick Cole, announced former DSP Community Services Director, Ryan Loofbourrow as the next Executive Director of Sacramento Steps Forward.

Loofbourrow began his career in Sacramento, where for over 18 years he served in leadership roles including co-chair of the former Sacramento County and Cities Board on Homelessness. He worked for the Downtown Sacramento Partnership as the Director of Community Services, establishing deep roots in the community. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of the Downtown San Diego Partnership’s Clean and Safe Program where he had the opportunity to work with San Diego’s multi-agency campaign to end homelessness.

“I am excited to join the Sacramento Steps Forward team,” said Loofburrow, “Having previously served on the Advisory Board for many years, I know first-hand the knowledge and dedication this organization brings to ending homelessness in our state’s capital city. I am committed to fostering region wide collaboration as we continue to establish a network of housing opportunities and services for the most vulnerable members of our community.”

Sacramento Steps Forward works collaboratively with services providers, local governments and the private sector to advance their mission of insuring that all people experiencing homelessness can obtain housing, economic stability and enhanced quality of life. The DSPHomeless Outreach Navigators work closely with Sacramento Steps Forward to further their mission. DSP also holds a spot on the Continuum of Care Board which is responsible for advising the Sacramento Steps Forward Board of Directors and the community on policy around the issue of homelessness.

“We look forward to continuing our partnership with Sacramento Steps Forward under Ryan’s direction,” said DSP Executive Director Michael Ault. “During Ryan’s tenure at the Partnership he created a cutting edge homeless outreach program that has been used throughout the state as a model for successfully connecting homeless individuals to resources. Ryan is a tremendous asset to those in need and to the Sacramento community as a whole.”
