In Downtown – Find Your In

Mayor Johnson kept the momentum of the Downtown Housing Initiative going last month through the launch of In Downtown, a campaign highlighting the people, events, amenities and development that make downtown a world-class place to live, work and play. At the crux of the initiative are the borders that define it—the American River to the North; Capital City Freeway to the South; the Sacramento River to the West; and Capital City Freeway to the East. This area encompasses 23 neighborhoods and districts that collectively form our vibrant community.

As the initiative continues to develop, the In Downtown website will house updates on topics like policy recommendations being presented to City Council this summer, as well as the launch of a developer toolkit this fall. In the meantime, whether you’re looking to indulge, inhabit, innovate or get involved, In Downtown is a resource for exploring what makes our city great.
