Come explore the Historic R Street Corridor!

SAC_AF’s Walk About offers guided walking tours to explore Sacramento’s design culture, spark curiosity, and inspire built environment connections.

The Sacramento Architecture + Design Foundation is excited to introduce Walk About, a new program inspired by the Australian term “walkabout” – a word that evokes both a journey through place and a deeper act of discovery. These informal walking tours are intended to foster connection and engagement, inviting participants to slow down, observe, and immerse themselves in their surroundings. Rooted in this spirit, Walk About reimagines Sacramento as an open-air classroom, encouraging designers, creatives, and the public to explore the city’s built environment through guided walks, conversations, and shared curiosity; transforming everyday streets into opportunities for design awareness and maybe even some urban sketching inspiration.

Join us on Saturday May 30th, under the Historic District R Street Sign, near Fox & Goose Public House, and walk east with us for a guided tour with highlights of Warehouse Artist Lofts, The Shady Lady, some of the many murals on the corridor, and ending at the recently-opened Hanoi on the corner of 17th and R.

Free to all, come join us!
