Linda Heath Clark is a Master Scratchboard Artist (MSA) living in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California. Her scratchboard art spans realism to abstract. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Art with a minor in Biology, Linda’s interest in wildlife and science led to positions illustrating museum exhibits and ultimately to working sixteen years as a scientific illustrator.
Using scratching techniques with acrylic, Linda strives for highly detailed textures and a three-dimensional feel in both her realistic and abstract pieces. She was awarded Master Scratchboard Artist (MSA) status by the International Society of Scratchboard Artists in 2016, and has been shown and won awards at local, regional, national, and international shows.
She has lectured and led workshops on scratchboard and the principles of scientific illustration at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, the University of California at Santa Cruz, and the Oakland Museum of California.
During the opening art reception for Linda, ARTHOUSE resident artists will open their studios to the public for Second Saturday, November 14, 2026 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm.
