Since 1997, the Sacramento Jewish Film Festival has showcased thought-provoking films that celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the Jewish story.
The Sacramento Jewish Film Festival, in collaboration with the Crocker Art Museum, will showcase The True Story of Tamara De Lempicka & the Art of Survival on May 17, 2026 at 1:30pm.
WHO IS TAMARA DE LEMPICKA?
An Art Deco icon. A Russian aristocrat. A bisexual, Jewish artist. A celebrated painter in 1920s Paris. A Polish refugee from fascism. An artist renowned for her dramatic post-cubism female nudes.
Tamara De Lempicka & the Art of Survival is a visually stunning documentary that traces the life of the renowned painter. It looks behind the veneer of publicity to examine her talent, resilience, passion, and relentless pursuit of artistic freedom.
