The theme for this year’s Viewpoint Photographic Art Center’s Annual Juried Student Show is street photography. Street Photography is a dynamic approach to camerawork that focuses on capturing action in urban, suburban and rural environments.

This year’s exhibition titled Catching the Moment, asks photographers and viewers alike to consider several thought-provoking questions: what is it that causes you to stop and look again? Is it lighting or action on the street. Does it include people, animals, buildings, signs? What do you want the viewer to understand about why you were inspired to make this photograph?

Forty-seven of the 81 students who submitted photographs were accepted by Juror, David Kalb, and for the first time the exhibition includes submissions from out-of-state students.
