Spirits of the Season is Atrium’s seasonal experience of Halloween chills and rich Día de los Muertos traditions in the heart of Historic Old Sacramento. An immersive art exhibit featuring a participatory Ofrenda, festive decor, ghostly paintings, and eerie sculptures – all crafted from upcycled materials by talented Sacramento artists. Meet the artists behind the exhibit with sips on October 15th and dive into the symbolism and history behind the iconic imagery of the spirited community altar.
Halloween Artists: AngelicArte, Art by Alyssa, Darkmoon Doll, Hustling to be Free, Island Girl Art, Jennie J Malloy, Kiss My Craft, Laurel Marana, and Stone Turner Creations.
Community Ofrenda Artists: Maggie Gomez-Devos, Nicole Fiorella, and Raul Mejia.
Participate by leaving photographs or honor loved ones using the materials provided. Guests are encouraged to wear inventive (and upcycled!) Halloween or Day of the Dead inspired attire. An award will be presented for the most sustainable and creative outfit.
Make your own art: Atrium is an interactive space for art, community and sustainability, where visitors participate in art making. Visitors sculpt clay creations, or create a trick or treat bag, all while enjoying the garden patio with kombucha or tea.
