Work Here, Eat There: Capitol Mall Office Buildings

Work on or near Capitol Mall in downtown Sacramento?

If you do, it’s your lucky day because Capitol Mall is surrounded by coffee shops and elevated lunch spots. Everything on this list is just a short walk away, making it easy to step away from your desk for a bite or to grab a drink at a coffee shop without spending your whole lunch break getting there.

These nearby restaurant favorites have you covered:

Lunch:
Bistro Bravado

This a great spot for a quick grab-and-go breakfast or lunch. They have tons of flavorful options and make sure you check online to see what their homemade soup of the day is. A little bowl of soup and the patio tables make for a great afternoon.

Cafe Connection

Super friendly staff and their classic Caribbean dishes make this a great lunch just steps from the State Capitol. They also have plenty of seating if you want a break from the office.

Camden Spit & Larder

Come for one of downtown’s best burgers and stay for the elevated atmosphere that’s nice for lunch meetings or after-work drinks with coworkers. Plus, you have to experience Camden’s fish and chip Fridays at least once.

House Kitchen & Bar

House is a go-to business casual spot for a lunch meeting or lounging after work on their patio with tons of seating options. If you’re wondering what to get, I’d recommend getting the fries! They are crispy and perfect with a side of ranch.

Panera Bread

You can’t go wrong with getting Panera on a day you forgot to bring lunch. It’s a dependable spot for soups, salads, sandwiches, and bakery treats. I’d check the app to see if they have any daily deals.

Prelude Kitchen & Bar

Prelude is in a prime location between L St & K St. It’s an elevated fine dining experience with tons of good options for lunchtime or after-work drinks. If they have their crème brûlée on the menu, it’s a must-try.

Coffee:

Old Soul Co.

If you’re in the mood for an iced latte or matcha, you can walk right over to Old Soul Co. Not only do they have a full beverage cafe menu, but they also serve food. I personally think the breakfast burrito with salsa is super good and a decent size.

Starbucks

10th & L Street
This Starbucks is a hotspot for employees near the State Capitol. If you need a quick coffee, you can run in and order or place a mobile pickup and be on the go.

Save this for the next time you need a lunch suggestion or a coffee break

There’s no shortage of great places just a few minutes from Capitol Mall. Save this list for your next coffee run, share it with a coworker, or use it as an excuse to finally try somewhere new.
