This year’s IRONMAN California is here to deliver an unforgettable race day, Sunday, October 19th. During IRONMAN, downtown Sacramento transforms into a celebration of energy and unforgettable moments. Showing your support gives you a front-row seat to greatness in action and provides that extra burst of motivation the athletes need during those final few miles. The finish line on Capitol Mall is where years of hard work and perseverance are realized.

Plan your Celebration Stations
Begin your day at the IRONMAN Village on Capitol Mall between 3rd & 4th Streets. Create motivational posters to carry with you during the day that will encourage athletes during the final stretch of their race.
Swim Section
The swim takes place in the beautiful Sacramento river. You can watch takeoff at Township 9 Park or watch the finish from The Delta King patio. Grab coffee or enjoy brunch as you wait for them to finish their 2.4 mile swim.
Bike Course
While the bike course is off the downtown grid, you can watch the athletes take off and return from across the river on the Sacramento River Parkway where there are comfy benches to take refuge with a warm cup of coffee, cocoa, or tea in your hands from one of these Old Sacramento Waterfront coffee shops:

Run Course
For the running portion of the race, there are lots of places to cheer on the route. At this point in your morning, you might want to use the restroom; Old Sacramento Waterfront has four public restrooms at your disposal. However, if you stop by a bar or restaurant, you’ll have all the amenities you’ll need!
Finish Line
The most exciting and rewarding part of the course – the finish line! The Capitol Building and Tower Bridge are your iconic landmark backdrops for the best photos and videos. Your IRONMAN will definitely need a meal after exerting so much energy. Take them to one of these restaurants to be properly celebrated:
