As a visual artist and prior psychotherapist, the world of the unknown summons Mr. Guss, with its alluring, captivating and intriguing qualities. Abstract art is a move from the literal, entering the imaginations, our longing to return towards the mystical, the alchemical and the wilds of possibilities. Abstraction invites us into the unknown, offering us an experience of connecting to the mystery.

Mystery has always been a fundamental part of life, with the unknown seeking to be known. Mystery has an edge of both wonder and awe as we fall into marveling at the Earth’s grandeur, its beauty, and the plethora of fascinating phenomena.

But mystery also holds a dark side, living within us as foreboding, even as dangerous. Yet curiosity and lure seem to be inextricably tied to us, as seekers that we are; holding a thirst to explore what lies around the next bend.

Gregory's hope is this exhibit of abstract art might invite a sort of return within, to our primordial, our collective origins, where we all began. There mystery and awe of life was part of our greater experience, and waited to be unveiled and known.

Please accept his invitation to rediscover your capacity, like ancestors, like children, to look into that which is unfamiliar, mysterious, and let meaning be awakened.

Remember not everything has to be explained to be known.
