Do you love acorns and oak trees as much as the State Indian Museum does? Discover the environmental significance of California's top keystone plant species and why the nuts they produce have been a culturally significant traditional food staple for California Native peoples since time immemorial.

Acorn Day features demonstrations by California Native Elders, arts and crafts, educational booths, guided tours of the park, and more! This is a free public event that takes place outside of the State Indian Museum. There is a separate charge to visit the State Indian Museum and Sutter's Fort.

This event will coincide with the monthly Demonstration Day event at Sutter's Fort State Historic Park where acorn and oak themed activities will take place such as baking in an outdoor brick oven with a recipe using acorn flour, dying wool with oak galls, cooking acorn themed recipes in the kitchen, and much more!
