Old Sacramento Waterfront Welcomes Fall with Halloween Festivities

Enjoy a month-long celebration filled with pumpkins, costumes, and fall fun for all ages

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. (September 25, 2025) – Sacramento’s favorite Halloween Town is back this fall in Old Sacramento Waterfront. Visitors can experience captivating movie nights twice a week, and enjoy festive décor, a giant jack-o’-lantern perfect for photo-ops, and delicious fall-inspired treats. This exciting seasonal celebration provides the perfect setting to enjoy all the thrills of the Halloween season.

Everyone’s favorite fall event, Movies Under the Stars, returns this year for double the fun. For the first time, guests can enjoy classic Halloween films every Thursday and Friday night in October. Thursday nights are dedicated to the family-friendly classics (Goonies, Coco, Hocus Pocus, Monsters Inc, and Beetlejuice), while Fridays cater to a more adult crowd (Practical Magic, Little Shop of Horrors, Hocus Pocus, Ghostbusters, and The Sixth Sense on Halloween night). For the Coco screening, Downtown Sacramento Partnership is thrilled to partner with the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber and Sol Collective, who will be offering various Día De Los Muertos items for sale. And don’t miss a chance to take a photo with 916 Ghostbusters on-site before Ghostbusters. This immersive outdoor movie experience is held at the Old Sacramento State Historic Park. Tickets are on sale now and always sell out quickly, so those interested should book movie night plans right away.
