Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink Brings New Ways to Celebrate the Season

From DIY craft workshops to themed skate nights, December offers even more reasons to visit the rink

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (November 17, 2025) – This December, the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink is bringing extra cheer with a full lineup of seasonal activations and family fun. Located at 7th and K Streets, the rink offers the ultimate downtown experience for families, friends, and couples looking to make lasting memories. From free skate sessions and hands-on craft workshops to a local pop-up market, each weekend offers something new to enjoy the holidays in the heart of the city.

December Special Events:

  • Free Skate Presented by Xfinity: 12 – 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6

Thanks to Xfinity, the first 200 skaters will skate for free. To make the day even more special, they will be giving away festive swag and providing a 360 photobooth to snap some pictures between skate session.

  • Drag Queens on Ice in partnership with CGNIE: 7 – 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12

Support the Court of the Great Northwest Imperial Empire with a spectacular drag show on ice with a DJ and activities all benefiting the hard work of CGNIE.

  • Calling All Dreamers Pop-up Market: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13

Skaters can meet this year’s cohort of ‘dreamers’ in the Calling All Dreamers incubator program to learn about their enticing business concepts.

  • Crafting Kindness Presented by Dignity Health: 12 – 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14

Skaters can create their own wooden fairy door with local artist Nicole Alvarez after skating, which they can place in their gardens at home; this craft is free to participate in thanks to Dignity Health.

  • Sports Day Presented by Western Health Advantage: All day Saturday, Dec. 20

Skaters are encouraged to celebrate being active by wearing their favorite team’s sports attire to get $5 off admission. From professional teams to your local rec leagues, all sports attire is welcome to honor what it means to stay active and healthy.

  • Crafting Kindness Presented by Dignity Health: 12 – 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21

Skaters can learn how to make their own jewelry with artists from local business Copper House Boutique after skating.

Ice Rink Hours and Pricing:

The price to skate is $15 for general admission and $8 for children ages 6 and under. Admission includes skate rental, and sizes run as small as 8 youth. Skaters can enjoy the rink from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays through Sundays (weather permitting).
