Calling All Dreamers FAQ

Who is eligible to apply?

We’re looking for innovative and unique retail, experience, and food business business concepts that compliment and strengthen downtown Sacramento. First-time entrepreneurs and experienced business owners are welcome to submit retail business concepts.

To be eligible for the Calling All Dreamers program you must be a US resident, 18 years of age or older at the time of submittal of competition application. The competition is open to new startup businesses, existing business outside the City of Sacramento or existing businesses in the City of Sacramento hoping to expand and/or open a new concept.

Can I apply if I already have a business?

The program is open to anyone looking to open a business in Downtown Sacramento. We welcome business concepts from entrepreneurs hoping to launch their first brick-and-mortar venture as well as experienced business owners looking to expand.

What is needed for the application?

  1. Business model concept
  2. 60 second video pitch
  3. Résumés of all business partners
  4. Any other digital assets you may have (Ex: logos, headshots)
  5. $50 Registration fee

How long is the program?

this is an annual program, with the next round beginning September 2025 and concluding February 2026. There are several key stages in this incubator series, and participants must attend the entire program.

  1. Applications open: August 1-31, 2025
  2. Business workshops: September – December 2025
  3. Pitch your business: January/February 2026
  4. Storefront opportunity: 2026
