About the Exhibition

The Honeycomb Project is a collective community art installation created by regional artist Candace Garlock. The installation features a modular mosaic of 900 individually crafted hexagonal panels created by over 500 local artists—a visual metaphor for how individual efforts come together to build a strong, resilient community.

At first glance, a honeycomb may seem like a simple pattern, but its beauty lies in the way each hexagonal cell works in harmony with the whole. The Honeycomb Project uses that natural form as a metaphor for community: many individual voices, each distinct, coming together to create something resilient, layered, and diverse.
