As part of its Grand Reopening and 25th Anniversary celebration in April 2026, the Sheraton Grand Sacramento is proud to participate in Photography Month Sacramento.

Located in the historic Public Market Building on J Street, the hotel occupies a landmark designed by renowned architect Julia Morgan and originally opened in 1923 as a vibrant public marketplace. For more than 50 years the building served as a central gathering place before being transformed into the iconic downtown hotel it is today.

To honor this legacy, guests and community members are invited to visit the Grand Historic Photo Gallery on the hotel’s second floor (open to the public except during private events). The exhibit features nine historic photographs and sketches highlighting notable architectural works by Julia Morgan, including the Public Market Building and the famed Hearst Castle.
