Resurrection Theatre invites audiences to the tiny, dying fishing village of Quissquitawna for a “half-baked” miracle in the regional premiere of
Faking Salvation
Written by local Sacramento playwright Matt Hanf and directed by Katie Ibarra, this character-driven comedy runs from March 6 through March 28, 2026, at the Wilkerson Theatre.
The Story
Quissquitawna (population: 6) is on the brink of extinction. Paul, a frustrated fishing guide, is locked in a bitter feud with the town’s mayor, sheriff, and head of the Lions Club—who all happen to be his sister, Gina. When Paul’s estranged daughter, Jill, accidentally tweets that a miracle has occurred at the village, the lie spirals out of control. Suddenly, a Vatican inspector and a woman seeking a cure arrive, forcing the townspeople—including Edna, the local bear-hunting arms enthusiast—to scramble through a desperate scheme where faith and deception collide.
