Gardens of Huemanity – Delgreta Brown
GARDENS OF HUEMANITY is an exploration of multiple environments– terrestrial, aquatic, celestial and aerial. In a time where communities are challenged by the notion of belonging to society or lands; Delgreta Brown, Contemporary and Afrofuturism Visual Artist asserts that these vibrant, beautiful environments are enriched by an array of hues and inhabited by the African Diaspora's presence.
GARDENS OF HUEMANITY is a visual and sensory effort to activate resilience. Delgreta depicts the African Diaspora in these natural environments to encourage reclamation of serenity, empowerment and connection to these natural spaces. The over 20 works of art in the exhibition evoke a sense of time displacement paired with a whimsical surrealist delight that is deeply rooted in luminous cultural images of immense pigment. “Delgreta Brown is a Multidisciplinary Artist who works at the intersections of Visual and Literary Art. Her work in the Creative Arts spans over two decades of experience. For over two decades she has focused on her career as a Contemporary and Afrofuturism Visual Artist.
The Sacramento-based artist says her work expresses themes of love, hope, music, prosperity, exploration, navigation, technology and spirituality. Delgreta has an affinity for using mixed medium elements combined with cultural aesthetics. Her artwork translates into ethereal portraits, vibrant abstract works or mystical landscapes.
