Creativity Speaks celebrates local creatives, inspires audiences with stories from creative voices beyond their own fields, and brings Sacramento’s creative community together. Our live, salon-style events feature both traditional and unconventional creatives—drawing a diverse audience and fostering connections across industries.

Creativity Speaks is committed to equitable representation and the belief that creative thought is most powerful when it reflects a range of voices and experiences.

This month's featured speakers are ALL FOUNDERS of Creativity Speaks.

Special Guest Speakers:

Heather Orr-Martinez is Principal and Creative Director at Thomas|Ferrous Design in Sacramento, where she merges creativity and functionality across industries, especially in food and packaging. With deep roots in the local creative scene since 2000, Heather is a founding force behind Creativity+—the precursor to Capital Creative Alliance (CCA)—and a longtime advocate for design that shapes meaningful consumer experiences.

Tamara Lawrence is a global Creative Director, brand strategist, and storyteller with 20+ years of experience shaping campaigns for top-tier brands like Disney, Uber, Zillow, and Visit California. As co-founder of Creativity+ and a driving voice behind CCA, she’s committed to building vibrant creative communities and elevating the next generation of leaders.

Phil Tretheway is a third-generation Sacramentan and award-winning Creative Director at Position and Board President at Capitol Creative Alliance. With two decades of experience in branding and digital design, he’s also a champion of community leadership—co-founding Creativity+ and serving as current President of the Capital Creative Alliance. Phil’s work has earned accolades from Comstock’s Magazine, Sacramento Business Journal, and Sacramento Magazine—and when he’s not designing, he’s raising a family and perfecting his ribs recipe.
