The holiday season is here, and what better way to embrace the festivities than by gliding across the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink? Located at 7th and K streets, the rink in December is packed full of special events perfect for families, couples, and friends. There will be events at multiple price points with free skate days and crafting events to silent disco and pop-up markets.

A Month of Festive Fun

This December, the Downtown Ice Rink is hosting a variety of exciting events to make your holidays extra memorable:

  • Free Skate Presented by Xfinity (Dec. 7, 12–2 p.m.)
    Start the month with complimentary skating! The first 300 visitors will enjoy free admission, and a 360 photobooth will be on-site to capture the fun.

  • Crafting Kindness with Nicole Alvarez (Dec. 8, 12–2 p.m.)
    Combine creativity with community spirit by making holiday cards under the guidance of local artist Nicole Alvarez. This activity is free, courtesy of Dignity Health.

  • Ugly Sweater Silent Disco (Dec. 13, 6:30–9:30 p.m.)
    Dance the night away in your favorite ugly sweater! For an extra $5, you’ll receive headphones to groove to tunes from three live DJs while skating.

  • Calling All Dreamers Pop-up Market (Dec. 14–15, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.)
    Discover unique gifts and meet local entrepreneurs from the Calling All Dreamers program. Shop small and support Sacramento’s budding businesses.

  • Crafting Kindness with Karen Chen (Dec. 22, 12–2 p.m.)
    Get creative with local artist Karen Chen at a festive coloring booth where you can design holiday cards after your skate.

  • Free Skate Day Presented by The A’s (Dec. 28, 12–2 p.m.)
    Celebrate the arrival of the A’s in Sacramento with another free skate session for the first 300 visitors.

Rink Hours & Admission

  • General Admission: $15 (includes skate rental)
  • Children 6 and Under: $8
  • Operating Hours:
    • Tuesday–Thursday: 2–9 p.m.
    • Friday–Sunday: 10 a.m.–10 p.m.
      (Hours may vary depending on weather.)
