Broadway Sacramento: Disney’s The Lion King
We’re extremely blessed with high-quality entertainment in Sacramento. Venues like Golden1 Center, Memorial Auditorium, and the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center bring world class shows to our city. Disney’s The Lion King, one of Broadway’s most visually stunning and emotionally powerful productions is running at SAFECU PAC right now and you need to go see it. This beloved classic thunders onto the stage with breathtaking costumes, soaring music, and unforgettable storytelling.
Disney’s The Lion King is a Tony Award-winning stage adaptation of the iconic 1994 animated film, brought to life through imaginative staging and masterful puppetry. Directed by Julie Taymor, the production reimagines the African savanna with larger-than-life animal characters, vibrant choreography, and Elton John & Tim Rice’s beloved songs.
The story follows the plot of the 1994 movie, with sensational reprises of the classic songs. What really blew me (and everyone else) away from this show is the set design and costumes.
