Where is Movies Under the Stars?
You can find the Movies Under the Stars screenings at the Old Sacramento Waterfront State Historic Park.

What time do I need to get to Movies Under the Stars?
Check in starts at 6 PM and the movie will begin to play at 7 PM.
Make sure you get here early to grab your seat and purchase your snacks and beverages.
*Bring a photo ID for check in!
What kind of ticketed seating options are there?
There are three types of seating tickets available for purchase at Movies Under the Stars.
General Seating- $10 | Lawn seating w/headphones. We recommend you bring a chair or blanket.
Preferred Seating- $25 | Adirondack Chair seating w/headphones. Includes $5 coupon for food & drink that applies to on-site businesses only.
Luxury Seating- $35 | Upgraded cozy seat w/headphones. This comes with a small popcorn and beverage.
*This is not a free event and tickets must be purchased in advance.
What do I need to bring to check in?
You’ll need to bring an ID to check in and borrow our movie headphones.
IDs are given back at the end of the movie once headphones are returned.
What am I allowed to bring?
For General Seating tickets it is recommended to bring your own chairs or blankets to sit in the grass.
Outside food and beverage is allowed, but we do have hot pizza, popcorn, and beverages and sweet treats on-site.
No glassware or alcohol in. If you like an adult beverage we have a bar onsite. *Must be 21+ to purchase
Where do I purchase tickets for Movies Under the Stars?
You can buy your tickets on the Movies Under the Stars webpage.
We recommend buying tickets in advance! This is a popular event that sells out quickly. If you try and wait to buy tickets day of or on-site there is a high chance you will not get a seat.
What days are movies played?
Every Thursday and Friday in October. Check-in starts at 6PM!
Where can I park my car?
There are 2 parking garages within walking distance of the park.
- Old Sacramento Garage, 125 I Street
- Tower Bridge Garage, 1289 Front StreetThere are also metered parking throughout the Old Sacramento district.
You can visit SacPark.org to find and reserve parking ahead of time!
Is there a designated Uber/ Lyft drop-off area?
There are two designated drop-off areas at I street & Firehouse Alley and Front & J Street.
Are there bathrooms on-site?
Yes! You can use the State Parks restrooms loctaed near the Movies Under the Stars.

Can I bring my pet?
The only pets allowed must be registered service animals and owner must have proof of identification.

How do I participate in the Costume Contest?
This years contest will be held on October 29 & October 30. Arrive wearing your favorite costume between 6 PM – 6:50 PM. The winner will be announced before the movie starts.
Here is what you could win:
- 10/29 winnings: 4 free skate passes to the Ice Rink
- 10/30 winnings: TBA

What you can expect to see:
Movies Under the Stars Bar – Cheers to the ultimate adult movie experience with alcoholic beverages. Last call at the bar is 8:15 PM each night. *Must be 21+ to purchase.
Photo Ops – Arrive early to check in and snap some shots with our festive photo ops. Don’t forget to tag us! @oldsac @downtownsac.
