Weekly Summer Markets Activate Downtown Sacramento With Local Vendors, Live Music, and Community Partnerships
SACRAMENTO, CALIF. (April 16, 2026) – Downtown Sacramento Partnership is bringing fresh energy downtown this summer with the return of its two signature weekday markets: Capitol Mall Farmers’ Market and Bodega Market. Designed to activate downtown during the workweek, these markets offer a mix of local vendors, food, wellness programming, and community-driven experiences that invite residents, workers, and visitors to engage with downtown in new ways.
Held weekly through the summer and early fall, both markets are intentionally timed to complement the rhythm of the workday, giving people an opportunity to step outside, recharge, and connect with their community.
“We’re thrilled to bring these summer markets back, with a mix of longtime favorites and some great new vendors joining us this year,” said Michael Ault, Executive Director of Downtown Sacramento Partnership. “Consistent daytime activations like these play an important role in creating a welcoming downtown. They give people a reason to step outside, connect with one another, and enjoy the energy of the city during the workweek. It’s those everyday moments like grabbing lunch with coworkers and listening to live music that really create a sense of place and get people excited to come back.”
On Wednesdays, the Capitol Mall Farmers’ Market features seasonal fresh produce from local farmers, hot food vendors, and baked goods, making it a staple for those looking to pick up their weekly produce or grab lunch in the heart of downtown.
On Thursdays, Bodega Market at 910 I Street offers a curated, experience-driven environment with live music, local artisans, and rotating activations designed to foster connection and community. Featured activations this season include:
- Market Movement with Yoga Moves Us every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month from 12:15 PM – 12:45 PM. Yoga mats available on site and no change of clothes required!
- Bodega Book Nook featuring a comfortable shaded spot to enjoy your current read, or choose from mobile libraries or a curated summer reading list on site
- Donation drop-off opportunities supporting First Step Communities and Front Street Animal Shelter
- Live music every Thursay featuring local artists
- Concerts in the Park drink token sales (exclusive to the first five weeks of the market)
New this year, both markets will feature Boulevard Coffee Roasting Co., serving fresh coffee for a perfect midday caffeine boost.
Together, these weekly markets support small businesses, activate public spaces, and create shared moments that contribute to a more dynamic and welcoming downtown core.
