About the Instructor

When artist and teacher Julia Jones moved into her new tiny home in 2021, needed to find a place to put her plants so she quickly learned how to make plant hangers, and was hooked. She continued on her macrame journey creating everything from earrings to large wall hangings. In 2025 she began teaching workshops at The Curious Forge in Nevada City, Artist Studio in the Foothils (ASiF) in Grass Valley, The Flower Farm in Loomis, and Rumpelstiltskin Yarn in Sacramento. She also teaches workshops in private homes, gives private 1:1 lessons, and is a vendor for Forest Charter teaching classes at ASiF for homeschool students, and has recently become a guest teacher at Colfax High school. As a creative and intuitive artist, Julia encourages her students to develop their unique vision while creating, and can adapt any project to her students abilities so they leave with a sense of accomplishment and pride in their work.
