Weekly Downtown Certified Farmers’ Market Returns June 16

(May 10, 2021)New Chefs’ Priority Pick-up added to conveniently connect local farmers and chefs

For chefs, workers and visitors hungry for fresh food, flowers and more, Downtown Sacramento’s favorite seasonal Certified Farmers’ Market returns to Capitol Mall beginning Wednesday, June 16, 2021. With more than 25 vendors to start and grow from there, the seasonal Farmers’ Market is available Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 6th Street & Capitol Mall. The weekly farmers’ market will provide “Al Fresco” lunch dining with hot lunch options from an array of Sacramento’s most popular food vendors next to local farmers selling fresh, regionally grown food. Local hot food vendors will include rotating food trucks and some downtown favorites such as Yolanda’s Tamales, Nash & Proper, Rosa’s Portuguese Bakery and What’s Poppin’ Kettle Corn.

New to the Downtown Farmers’ Market this year is the Chefs’ Priority Pick-up. This program directly connects farmers to chefs, bringing new farmers to meet the needs of local restaurants. Chefs have a priority hour from 9 to 10 a.m. and parking will be available between 6th and 7th Street on Capitol Mall going west, in the left-hand lane. In addition, Downtown Sacramento Partnership will provide chefs carts to assist with shopping.

ENJOY RESPONSIBLY: Shoppers will find new measures in place to keep them safe:

  • Hand sanitizer stations
  • Limit on number of people per stall
  • Additional space via wider market aisles and chalk guidelines for spacing
  • Plenty of signage to remind everyone to physically distance
  • Food sampling is temporarily suspended
  • Frequent cleaning of market equipment

Shoppers are also asked to adhere to recommendations from public health officials:

  • Stay home if feeling sick or exhibiting respiratory symptoms like fever and cough
  • Practice physical distancing and remain six feet apart
  • Shoppers should only touch what they plan to purchase
  • Look for chalk ground to designate spacing for people waiting to pay or shop
  • Wear a mask or face covering
  • Wash hands frequently
