Open daily through Monday, January 20, 2020, the 28th season of the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink offers visitors an enhanced skating experience with an array of exciting special events more than ever before.

“The Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink brings the community together every holiday season,” said Michael Ault, Executive Director of Downtown Sacramento Partnership. “This really is the ultimate downtown experience!”

Sacramento City officials, Sacramento Kings mascot Slamson, Sacramento River Cats mascot Dinger, and others celebrated the official opening of the Ice Rink with a special ribbon-cutting celebration. Following, third-grade students from William Land Elementary took to the ice for a free skate session courtesy of Dignity Health before the rink opened to the public.

“Dignity Health is delighted to be partnering once again with the Downtown Sacramento Partnership on the Downtown Ice Rink”, said Laurie Harting, president of the Dignity Health Sacramento Division. “The Ice Rink provides a unique opportunity for families, friends, co-workers, and children to come together over the next few months to skate, catch up over a warm beverage, take a break from busy schedules, share a laugh, and just be together. We believe that deliberate, meaningful human interaction is critical to our health and to the health of our community, and we couldn’t be more excited about this partnership.”
