2020 Annual Events Calendar Announced

St. Patrick’s Day Parade | March 14

The 24th annual parade brings hundreds of colorful marchers dressed in green with Irish and Highland dancers, pipe and drum bands, historic and cultural organizations together to celebrate at Sacramento’s historic waterfront.

Downtown Farmers’ Markets | May – October

Shop for the freshest California grown seasonal favorites, from fruits and vegetables to baked goods, flowers, herbs, and cheeses at downtown’s seasonal farmers’ markets. Don’t miss Kaiser Permanente’s Walk to Thrive Club at the Capitol Mall Market.

  • 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Cesar Chavez Plaza — May 6-Oct. 28
  • 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Capitol Mall — May 7-Sept. 24

Concerts in the Park | May 1 – July 24

Sacramento’s favorite FREE summer music series provides a festival-like experience with a full lineup of musicians, food trucks, boutiques, live art performances and more. Roughly 1,000 artists have rocked the CIP stage over the past 27 years, showcasing local talent and nationally touring artists like Franz Ferdinand, Cake, SHAED, Deftones, The Brodys and Smith & Thell.

Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink | November 6, 2020 –January 18, 2021

Recognized as a seasonal landmark on The Kay for nearly 31 years, the Ice Rink provides a playful escape into a winter wonderland for kids and adults alike.

Theatre of Lights I November 25–December 24

Celebrate the holidays with the annual tree lighting ceremony on Thanksgiving Eve followed by nightly free performances of the Christmas lighting spectacular, Theatre of Lights. Each 20-minute performance features a reading and an enactment of the classic “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” tale from the historic balconies of the Old Sacramento Waterfront.

Dine Downtown | January 8-18, 2021

Foodies rejoice! For 11 days, Downtown restaurants will offer a special 3-course dining experience for $40, with one dollar from every meal donated to charity programs.

State of Downtown | January 2021

This annual celebration of Sacramento’s thriving urban core highlights the projects and amenities recently completed, developments under construction and previews exciting new initiatives and projects coming to downtown Sacramento.
