2015 Dine Downtown Generates $479,770 Economic Impact Over 10 Days

FLC Dine Downtown Donation Check

SACRAMENTO, CA (February 13, 2015) –In just 10 days, the 10th Annual Dine Downtown restaurant week generated $479,770 in sales revenue (including sales tax) between January 15 – 24. In addition to the economic boost to 28 local restaurants, $1 from every Dine Downtown meal was donated to Food Literacy Center (FLC), a non-profit dedicated to inspiring change in community food education. Yesterday, Downtown Sacramento Partnership (DSP) gathered alongside local chefs to present the FLC and its students with a $14,264 donation.

“Food Literacy Center’s kids are the real winners from this year’s Dine Downtown,” said Amber Stott, Founding Executive Director of Food Literacy Center. “With the funds raised, we’ll be able to expand to more schools in the fall. Meanwhile, we’ll be training more Food Literacy Geniuses so we have instructors ready to move into those new schools. We’re filled with cherry blossom cheer!”
