Join us at Axis Gallery for Second Saturday, a monthly celebration of the newest gallery exhibition. Guests can enjoy light refreshments, lively conversation, and meet the month’s featured member artists.

Axis Gallery invites you to “View from the Hill”, an exhibition featuring the distinct perspectives of seven artists in the later stages of their creative journeys. This show highlights the growth that often unfolds with experience, offering a space for emerging artists to reflect on the evolving nature of artistic expression.

Each artist shares their unique viewpoint, inviting viewers to engage with works that weave together past experiences and future possibilities. We welcome you to join us in appreciating the transformative insights and rich narratives that define this important stage of creativity.

Artists:

Steve Briscoe's work is process-based and made in response to materials, forms and events. It is part self-portrait, cultural commentary, and poetic gesture.

Roma Devanbu works primarily on paper, often incorporating decorative elements and pattern. Themes revolve around the interplay between the personal and the universal, practice and  philosophical, literal and abstract, mundane and divine.

Richard Gilles' photographs open a window to things often viewed but not seen.

Jennifer Kim Sohn invites the viewers to consider some of our timeís challenging environmental and social issues. In this exhibit, she raises various aspects of fast fashion and how our consumer habits impact the world.

Every day, for Mattie Parfitt, is like a randomly-chosen card: some days sheís a queen and some days sheís a joker.

Susan Silvester's work explores time, technique, and perspective, revealing a seasoned artistís evolving view from the hill of experience.

Joanne Tepper Saffren explores concepts of ìhomeî by sculpting domestic objectsósuch as vessels and chairsóthat invite viewers to engage with the gallery space and art in an embodied way.
