Coinciding with Photography Month Sacramento, Viewpoint Photographic Art Center is excited to present its annual show of student work “Bridges and Barriers,” featuring 31 images by nine local high school students and 22 college students coming from schools in Sacramento, Yolo, San Joaquin, Solano and Placer counties. The photos were selected from more than 100 photos sent in for this juried show.

Students were asked to consider: What comes to mind when you think about making a photograph to tell a story about barriers and bridges?  Do you have a favorite bridge or a barrier you would like to explore in photographs? Does it also make you consider social, cultural, and emotional barriers and bridges? Co-curators for the show of student work are Diana Proctor, Shelley Carlise and Cynthia Van Horne.

Three cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place on April 13 at the Artists Reception from 1 to 4 p.m.; awards will be presented at 2 p.m.
