Calling All Dreamers Pop-Up Holiday Market to Open in Downtown Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. (November 28, 2022) – Downtown Sacramento Partnership is thrilled to announce the opening of the Dreamers Holiday Market, a temporary pop-up space on K Street in Downtown Sacramento that will house 11 entrepreneurs from the Calling All Dreamers program, a business incubator series managed by the Downtown Sacramento Foundation.

Located on the corner of 11th and K Streets, Dreamers Holiday Market will occupy the former Ambrosia Café and Morgan’s Mill locations for the month of December, operating Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 7 p.m., December 3-18. The retail space, currently for lease, has been generously donated by Clippinger Investment Properties, and will be an incredible resource to these local entrepreneurs participating in the Calling All Dreamers program.

“The Dreamers Holiday Market, located in the heart of Downtown Sacramento, is your one-stop shop for unique, locally made gifts this December.” Says Scott Ford, Economic Development Director at Downtown Sacramento Partnership, “It is a chance to support this year’s cohort of Calling All Dreamers, as well as participating Dreamers alum. This location is especially fitting, with nearby previous winners including Nash & Proper and The Allspicery, who opened brick-and-mortar locations downtown after being given the awardee prize package.”

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Calling All Dreamers, presented by Downtown Sacramento Foundation, is making the first step of small business ownership easier for aspiring entrepreneurs by providing much-needed start-up support. The new-and-improved program is designed to help transform big ideas into retail reality and/or help existing businesses looking to expand or open a new concept in downtown Sacramento, while cultivating a sense of community support.

Since 2013, Calling All Dreamers has continued to drive economic growth in the heart of the Sacramento region. While the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted some of the past winners of the program, Calling All Dreamers has helped to launch more than two dozen local businesses.

“Clippinger Investment Properties is happy to partner with The Downtown Partnership and excited to be able to host the Dreamer’s Market at 11th & K Street,” says Bob Clippinger, President of Clippinger Investment Properties, “We are happy to provide the available space for entrepreneurs to try out new ideas and concepts or their spin on favorites.  We believe that the best is yet to come in Downtown Sacramento and look forward to seeing what transpires in the space!”

As with previous years, consumers will have a chance to vote on their favorite Dreamer, with public voting starting December 1 and continuing through December 14. This year, consumers will have the ability to try out the entrepreneurs’ products and services and meet the people behind the business name before voting.
