Sacramento Regional Transit

Sacramento Regional Transit (RT) operates 97 bus routes and 37.4 miles of light rail.

Light Rail Service

RT light rail trains begin operation at 4:30 am with service every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes in the evening. The Blue Line trains run until 1 a.m. and the Gold Line to Folsom runs until 7 p.m.

Bus Service

Buses operate daily from approximately 5 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., with several routes and shuttles serving specific Downtown areas. Schedules and routes vary.

Fares*

Train and bus fare for travel within the Downtown (Central City) area is $1.00 (50 cents for passengers paying discounted fares). Basic single fare for travel throughout the RT system is $2.00 each way (ages 19-61). Discount fare is $1.00 for seniors (age 62+), students (ages 5-18) and disabled passengers with proper photo ID. Transfers are 25 cents (10 cents fro passengers paying discounted fare). Central City/Shuttle validated light rail tickets are not accepted as bus transfers.
