Economic Development/Downtown Revitalization
- K Street Entertainment Project –The DSP Board of Directors strongly supported the proposed K Street Entertainment Project at the February 18 meeting. The project seeks to create three unique and high quality entertainment venues on K Street to maintain the momentum that has occurred on the JKL Corridor as a result of significant public and private investment. Housing/Residential
- Inclusionary Ordinance — The City of Sacramento is considering expanding its mixed-income ordinance, mandating a percentage of low and extremely low income units in all new residential development, from the current requirement in new growth areas to citywide.
- Historic Maydestone Renovation - The Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA), in partnership with D&S Development, is moving forward on a proposal to renovate the Historic Maydestone Apartments on the southeast corner of 15th and J.
General Policies
- Utility User Tax Reduction Measure — To protect General Fund revenues, the City of Sacramento has placed a measure on the November 2009 ballot to expand the Utility Users Tax to include wireless communication services.
Transportation
- Greyhound Relocation — The City of Sacramento has begun the process to relocate Greyhound to an interim terminal at 420 Richards.
- Sacramento/West Sacramento Streetcar — A proposed Streetcar connecting Downtown Sacramento to the West Sacramento City Hall is in the early planning phase.
- City of Sacramento Transportation Development Impact Fee — The City of Sacramento is proposing a fee on new development for transportation projects. The DSP will be actively participating in the development of the fee proposal.
