Housing/Residential
- Inclusionary Ordinance — The City of Sacramento is considering expanding its mixed-income ordinance, mandating a percentage of low and extremely low income units in all new residential development, from the current requirement in new growth areas to citywide.
- Notice of Funding Availability — The Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency released a $25 million NOFA for mixed-income residential projects in downtown with a priority for projects in the JKL Corridor.
General Policies
- Utility User Tax Reduction Measure — To protect General Fund revenues, the City of Sacramento has placed a measure on the November 2009 ballot to expand the Utility Users Tax to include wireless communication services.
Transportation
- Greyhound Relocation — The City of Sacramento has begun the process to relocate Greyhound to an interim terminal at 420 Richards.
- Sacramento/West Sacramento Streetcar — A proposed Streetcar connecting Downtown Sacramento to the West Sacramento City Hall is in the early planning phase.
- City of Sacramento Transportation Development Impact Fee — The City of Sacramento is proposing a fee on new development for transportation projects. The DSP will be actively participating in the development of the fee proposal.
Economic Development/Downtown Revitalization
- Development Impact Fee Deferral Program — The City of Sacramento has proposed a fee deferral program as part of an economic incentive package.
- Sacramento Employment and Economic Development Corporation (SEED Corp.) — The City of Sacramento has approved the SEED Corporation to provide additional tools for the acquisition and financing of development projects and to encourage efforts to promote economic development.
- Railyards —The proposed mixed use redevelopment of the 280-acre Railyards will add a significant amount of housing and retail to the Downtown core.
