BUSINESS RECRUITER
The Downtown Sacramento Partnership is looking to initiate a new full-time staff position for a Business Recruiter for the Downtown District. The position’s primary goal is to improve the current retail mix and increase retail occupancy throughout the district. The position will specifically be responsible for business recruitment and assistance efforts for Downtown.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Building relationships with current and prospective tenants, property owners, real estate brokers
- Matching viable prospects with landlords/real estate representatives
- Assisting existing retail businesses to improve their impact on the surrounding area particularly in the realm of merchandising, façade improvements, etc
- Develop and maintain marketing materials for prospective tenants
- Work with City staff to develop and manage retail business incentive programs and non-monetary programs to improve the quality and quantity of downtown retail businesses
- The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about Downtown Sacramento, has a strong network within the local business community, possesses great taste in design (especially retail merchandising and urban planning) and has an outgoing and tenacious personality. Retail or real estate background not required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in retail, sales, advertising, public relations, design, and related disciplines
- Excellent communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships and support among stakeholders
- Coalition-building skills including the ability to motivate, negotiate, and persuade stakeholders into a course of action.
